FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Smoke from a large fire in Flagler County is causing problems for drivers on the road.

Fire Rescue officials told Local 6 the fire originated in a nine acre, 70-foot-high mulch pile Monday night on County Road 403, west of U.S. 1.

Officials said despite efforts to put the fire out, it is expected to burn for several weeks and continue to cause smoke issues for drivers, especially in Palm Coast, on I-95, U.S. 1 and S.R. 100 in Flagler County.

They warn morning fog combined with the smoke may continue to make travel extra difficult during morning commutes.
