Seabreeze High School students may face charges in vandalism

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Three Seabreeze High School students may face animal cruelty and burglary charges after police say they broke into the school, vandalized the hallways and stole the school duck from its cage.

Police said the vandalism occurred early Saturday morning at the school, located on Oleander Avenue.

According to the report, three students broke into the secured campus and spray painted the walls, lockers and doors in hallways.

Surveillance video also caught the students removing the school duck from its cage, police said.

One of the students told police they spray painted the duck on its left side, according to the report. The duck was not injured. 

The complaint affidavits were forwarded to the State Attorney's Office, which will determine if charges will be filed.

The students were not identified.
