Police said the driver of the vehicle was traveling west on Hibiscus Boulevard as the train was approaching.

The driver tried crossing the tracks as the crossing arm lowered down onto the vehicle, police said. The train came through the intersection, making contact with the back of the vehicle.

Police said the vehicle spun around and came to a stop on the west side of the train tracks.

The driver was emotionally distraught, but did not appear to have any noticeable injuries, police said. The driver, who was the only person inside the vehicle, was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The train was released from the scene. Police said traffic should return to normal.
