Man chased down, held carjacker until deputies arrived

ORANGE CITY, Fla. – Volusia County deputies arrested a Tennessee man whose carjacking attempt was foiled by the victim's quick thinking - and his pocket knife.

Kevin Miller, 42, was charged with carjacking, grand theft auto and aggravated assault in the Saturday morning incident at the Oyster Bar in Orange City.

Deputies said Miller asked a couple for a ride home from the bar, then pulled a knife on them while they were driving.

As Miller started to drive off with their SUV, one of the victims used his own pocket knife to puncture two tires and disabled the vehicle, according to the release.

Deputies said Miller then got out of the vehicle and the victim chased down him, caught him and held Miller down with a large stick until authorities arrived.
