Talking tattoos bring memories to life

New ink form offers audio ink

VENICE BEACH, Calif. – Getting a tattoo can now bring memories to life in a a new way.

Soundwave tattoos let the customer listen to his or her own ink.

Tthe artist turns an audio clip into a waveform, which is printed out and used as a stencil.

"You take a picture with our app, we process the tattoo, and we make it so the app can play it back," creator Nate Siggard said.

Soundwave tattoos are playable with an app called "Skinmotion," which is scheduled to be released this month.
