Woman accused of using baby to beat boyfriend denies allegations

Tatyana Allen, 18, tells News 6 that baby's father dropped child

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – An Ocoee mother accused of using her 6-month-old baby as a weapon to attack her boyfriend has been released from jail.

Tatyana Allen, 18, bonded out of jail Tuesday after a judge granted her a $30,000 bond.

Allen spoke to News 6 by phone after her release, saying the allegations against her are untrue.

"The persons who claim I used the (the baby as a weapon), Jerrod, his father and aunt who were there personally when it happened, told cops that I did not, and they told DCF that also, " Allen told News 6.

The mother said she got into an argument with the baby's father Monday on Daytona Beach near the Ocean Walk.

Witnesses called 911 and told dispatchers that they saw Allen hit the man with her baby before throwing the child in the sand.

Dispatch: "Did the baby look like it was crying or anything?"

Caller: "The baby was screaming. It was face down in the sand. It can't hold its head up by itself, that's how little it was."

Allen told News 6 the baby was being held by the father at the time and that he was the one who dropped the infant.

The mother is now facing charges of battery and inflicting physical abuse on a child.

As a condition of her bond, she cannot have any contact with her child.
