'Grumpy mom' explains viral Splash Mountain photo

New Yorker opens up about picture taken at Disney World

EAST SYRACUSE, New York – The woman who has become infamously known as "Angry Splash Mountain Lady" opened up about her newfound fame.

Jordan Alexander says she just wanted to go on Splash Mountain at Disney World with her husband, Steven, but when he said he was tired and wanted to sit it out, she decided to make the now-viral face.

"It was a long day. I had bronchitis, I had a crying baby, and my husband informed me that he doesn't have it in him to ride my favorite ride," Alexander explained.

Despite the grumpy face, Jordan said she wasn't really mad at her husband.

"I kind of practiced (the angry look) the whole way. And by the time we got to the last drop I didn't know where the camera was, so I just guessed and looked over and took the picture and that was that," she said.

After seeing the photo, Alexander's husband decided to post it online.

"When she first showed me the photo, I just lost it. How could you not? I was like, 'Did you coordinate this with them?' Because it was so perfect," Steven Alexander said.

The photo then went viral with Alexander's face being Photoshopped all over the Internet, from a Bernie Sanders rally to a skydiving trip.

For her part, Alexander said she's taking it all in stride.

"I think it's great that people are taking it and having fun with it. I think some of the Photoshops are absolutely hilarious," she said.
