Kissimmee man dies in crash after being struck by own car following medical episode

Driver ejected from, hit by vehicle on Stepping Stone Boulevard

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A 47-year-old Kissimmee man died in a crash Monday morning in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck happened around 8:05 a.m. on Stepping Stone Boulevard at Marigold Avenue in Kissimmee.

The FHP said the man was driving a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria east on Stepping Stone Boulevard when he suffered a medical episode.

The car ran off the road and struck a tree, ejecting the man from the car, the FHP said. The car then rotated counter-clockwise and struck the man, who was pronounced dead the scene, an FHP crash report stated.

Two passengers, a 36-year-old Kissimmee woman and a 3-year-old boy, were taken to HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.

None of the victims was wearing a seat belt, the crash report stated.
