Troopers ID victim in Flagler County crash as Ormond Beach woman

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A 59-year-old Florida woman was killed late Monday when she became pinned by her own vehicle in a freak accident, troopers said.

The fatal incident happened around 11:50 p.m. on Strickland Road in Flagler County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the Ormond Beach woman failed to put her sport utility vehicle in park as she got out of it. The SUV rolled forward and collided with a tree on the driver’s side, according to an FHP crash report.

The impact pinned the woman between the door and the driver’s side of the SUV, the crash report stated.

The FHP said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details have been released.
