Vehicle fire shuts down I-95 in Melbourne (FDOT)
MELBOURNE, Fla. – A vehicle fire along Interstate 95 in Melbourne forced the closure of all southbound lanes Thursday afternoon, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The fire took place on I-95 South before mile marker 183 (State Road 518), FDOT’s Florida 511 website states.
All southbound lanes and an on-ramp were closed, according to the website, which added traffic was backed up about three miles at the time of this report.
Traffic cameras showed what appeared to be an RV with smoke pouring out of it.
