Bus fire causes 5-mile backup on Beachline, FHP says

Blaze seen for miles away

A coach bus that caught fire Friday on State Road 528, backed up rush-hour traffic for five miles, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fire was reported just after 4:45 p.m.at Exit 24 near Dallas Boulevard.

All westbound lanes are blocked, according to the FHP.

FHP officials said only the driver was on the bus and was not injured.

Orange County Fire Rescue said the bus had a 150-gallon fuel tank and was fully involved.

Drivers were advised to use an alternate route.
