Troopers investigate fatal Orlando wreck

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 30-year-old woman riding a moped was killed in a crash Friday morning in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash happened just before 10 a.m. at Universal Boulveard and Breakview Drive near I-4 and the Beachline in Orlando.

The FHP said the Jeep was driving eastbound on Breakview Drive and tried to cross all lanes of Universal Boulevard, pulling into the path of the moped, which was driving northbound on Universal Boulevard.

The front of the moped then struck the right side of the Jeep, troopers said.

The rider of the moped, identified as 30-year-old Natalie Santana, was taken to Dr. Phillips Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, troopers said.

The 29-year-old driver of the Jeep was not injured in the crash.

No other details have been released and it's not clear if charges will be filed.

The crash remains under investigation.
