2 men hurt in I-95 crash in Brevard County, FHP says

Driver in 1 vehicle ejected due to crash, troopers say

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Two men were hurt in a crash Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened at 6:50 p.m. on I-95 at Exit 173.

Troopers said a Mazda vehicle and a Dodge vehicle were traveling north on the interstate.

When the Mazda approached the Dodge, the Mazda vehicle did not slow down and struck the rear of the Dodge, troopers said.

The Mazda traveled off the roadway. Troopers said the vehicle's driver was ejected. According to the FHP's report, the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

The driver of the Mazda was taken to a hospital and suffered critical injuries, troopers said. The driver of the Dodge suffered minor injuries.

All southbound lanes were blocked, and all but one lane was blocked in the northbound direction.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
