Video released in fatal Orlando road rage hit-and-run

Police identify victim as Salman Khan

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man who exited his vehicle in an apparent road rage incident early Monday was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Orlando, police said.

The fatal crash was reported around 12:45 a.m. on Windhover Drive near Kirkman Road.

According to police, Salman Khan got out of his vehicle to confront the other driver. Khan was then hit and killed by the other car, which fled the scene, Orlando police said.

Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and reviewing video from surrounding businesses.

On Tuesday, detectives released pictures and video of a silver or gray Chevrolet Tahoe at the intersection of Kirkman and Conroy roads. They said they want to speak to the driver.

"He would always tell you he loved you," said friend Brae Chambers. "He's a good guy. He's a good guy."

Chambers and a group of friends gathered at a pub Tuesday night to remember their friend -- just steps away from where he was killed.

They said the white car seen in the video was Khan's car.

Another friend told News 6 that Khan was laid to rest Tuesday, a day after he was killed. They said it was customary under the family's Muslim faith.

Anyone with information about the Chevy Tahoe seen in the video is asked to call Orlando police or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
