48.7 million expected to travel for Thanksgiving

Most people expected to travel by car, AAA says

ORLANDO, Fla. – Travelers heading out of town for Thanksgiving will need to pack their patience.

According to AAA, more than 48 million people are expected to travel more than 50 miles. 

Experts say that is the most Thanksgiving travelers since 2007.

According to AAA, 43.5 million people are expected to travel by car, with 3.7 million getting to their destination by flying. 

In Florida, AAA predicts more than 2.5 million people will head out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday.

According to bookings through AAA, Orlando is one of the most popular destinations for Thanksgiving, along with Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Diego and New York City.
