Dry, hot Saturday expected across Central Florida

Orlando will reach high of 94

ORLANDO, Fla. – Saturday starts dry and hot throughout Central Florida.

Most of the area will make it into the 90s, including the east coast since the sea breeze won't be fire up until later today. Orlando will make it to a high of 94, but, of course, will feel hotter than that with all the humidity mixed in.

Central Florida will remain dry most of the afternoon. But by 1 p.m. the west coast sea breeze fires up and Marion, Lake and Sumter should expect pockets of heavy rain. By 5 p.m. the sea breeze moves east into Volusia, Seminole, and eastern Orange counties. At 8 p.m., it shifts south into Osceola, Orange and parts of Brevard. These have the potential for heavy longer-lasting rain that could lead to some flooding, frequent lightning and gusty winds.

“It’s a great day for the beach, if you get out there early,” News 6 meteorologist Madeline Evans said.

Daytona will reach a high of 92 degrees with the water temperature sitting at 78. There is only a slight rip current risk.

By 10 p.m., Central Florida dries out with a low temperature of 75 and wind coming from the south to southeast at 5 mph.

Sunday is about the same. It will reach a high of 92 with a 60-percent coverage of late afternoon storms once again.
