Rain moves out of Central Florida, but here comes the cooldown

Orlando to see lows in low 40s by midweek

ORLANDO, Fla. – After a few gloomy days in Central Florida, sunshine returns, but the region will also see a big cooldown.

"The front that brought rain overnight is pushing out of Central Florida and drier air is working in, leading to lots and lots of sunshine into the afternoon," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "Winds will come out of the north-northwest at 25 mph."

The high in Orlando will reach 70 degrees on Tuesday, despite abundant sunshine. The average high on this date is 78.

The overnight low will be in the 40s.

"With more cool air working in behind the front, expect highs in the low and mid-60s for Wednesday and Thursday," he said.

Lows will hit the low 40s -- and possibly the 30s in northern counties -- early Thursday.

By Friday, St. Patrick's Day, high temperatures moderate back into the low 70s.

"For the weekend, we will be dry, with highs in the mid- and upper 70s," Bridges said.
