Showers scatter across Central Florida Sunday afternoon

Central Florida is looking at another typical Florida summer day.

We are going to reach a high of 91 for Sunday, with a 50 percent coverage of rain by the late afternoon.

The day will start off dry and partly cloudy before scattered showers move in around 2 or 3 p.m. Then heavier rain pushes into Seminole and Orange counties.

There could be some spots of heavier rain, frequent lightning and gusty winds. By 10 p.m., all the rain pushes out, leaving the region dry once again.

It's a good day for the beach, but make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and drink water. Daytona will reach a high of 89, with the water temperature at 78.

The wind will be coming from the east to southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Since conditions are breezy, the rip current risk will be moderate.

Sunday night the low will be 74 under a mostly cloudy sky.

For the week ahead, temperatures stay in the low 90s with rain chances sticking around 40 to 50 percent.
