Temperatures rise to mid-90s as heat wave hits Central Florida

The heat wave that began Monday with highs in the upper 80s kicked up a notch Tuesday with the thermometer hitting 90 in Orlando.

Tuesday night will be a nice evening with a low of 66.

By Wednesday, the heat wave will make it to near-record territory.

The record for Wednesday is 98. The forecast high is 96.

On Thursday, it will be just as hot with a forecast high of 95.

Friday will bring an increase in cloud cover and a slight dip in the temperature. The high Friday will be 92.

The next chance of rain arrives Saturday. Look for a high Saturday of 89 with a 20 percent chance of rain.

Sunday is Mother's Day. The high will be 89 with lots of sun.
