Construction on 40,000 square-foot pickleball facility in The Villages hits halfway milestone

THE VILLAGES, Fla. – Construction on a 40,000 square-foot, two-story pickleball facility in The Villages is halfway there.

Leaders from Stevens Construction and The Pickleball Club gathered at the work site Thursday to celebrate the milestone.

The Pickleball Club is building the massive complex at NE 62nd Terrace near Saddlebrook Executive Golf Course.

The facility will feature 16 indoor pickleball courts, two covered outdoor courts and two bocce ball courts. There will also be a café, pro shop, locker rooms and a lounge. The second floor will have a bar and viewing area to the courts below and more.

Construction began in November 2023 and is slated for completion in late 2024.

The Pickleball Club has a goal of opening 15 facilities over the next five years.

Other locations under development include Orlando, where a 33,800 square-foot facility is planned for a site at 1427 N. Semoran Blvd.
