Applesauce pouches recalled after routine inspection

Materne North America Corp. is voluntarily recalling specific packages of GoGo squeeZ applesauce pouches.

Manufacturers found product residue in food pumps during a routine inspection. It is possible the residue may have been mixed in the finished applesauce pouches.

The recalled applesauce pouches have a Best Before Date of Dec. 4, 2015-March  4, 2017 and a five-digit production code beginning "US" followed by 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 or 08. Any products labeled as organic are not impacted by the recall.

Consumers who have purchased the pouches are asked to request a replacement voucher from GoGo squeeze.

So far, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the issue.
