This is Florida’s most ‘charming’ small-town downtown. Here’s why

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – HGTV has released its list of the most “charming” small-town downtowns across the U.S., providing some insight into which of these niches are most worth exploring.

According to HGTV, the report takes a look at small towns that sport beautiful environments or offer plenty of things to see and do.

“Nothing charms like a small downtown that beckons visitors with historic architecture and boutique shops or local culture and tree-lined streets,” the report reads. “Many small-town downtowns are located in beautiful settings or have stunning views. Others welcome visitor with lively festivals, delicious foods or nostalgic atmosphere.”

Of the 40 towns to make the list, some highlights include Athens, Georgia; Charlottesville, Virginia; and Lewiston, New York.

But one of these small-town downtowns can be found right here in the Sunshine State: Fernandina Beach in Northeast Florida.
