For those with a birthday near Christmas, Florida’s native grocery chain is offering a brand-new item to help celebrate both.
In a release, Publix officials unveiled the new product, revealed to be a “Merry Birthday Cake.”

According to the company, the cake was first shown in the company’s holiday commercial that aired on Thanksgiving.
The cake itself is described as a two-tiered dessert with a top layer that’s filled with sprinkles.
However, the cake is only available by special order, with a 24-hour notice being required, the company said.
“Our bakery can prepare the cake featured in the commercial for you - whether you’re celebrating someone special with a December birthday or you’re just a Publix fan,” the release reads.
But for those who don’t want to wait, the company is also offering a 9-inch “mini version” of the cake, which can now be found in stores.
The company announced that it conducted research, finding that over 60% of people with a birthday in the winter holiday season believed the holidays interfered with their own birthday.
“We know many people born on Christmas have faced years of shared celebrations and combined gifts,” Publix Director of Creative Services Mark Nielsen said. “We wanted to change that by giving them a moment of recognition and joy.”
