Furniture - Incoming freshman spend an average of $324 on furnishing their dorm rooms, according to US News and World Report. Greyhound has a discount card that gets students 20 percent off.6. Car insurance - If you have good grades, most insurance companies will offer a student discounts. Parents can also reduce their premiums if a driver is away at school without a car.7.
