He was born in Lake City, South Carolina, on October 21, 1950. He is survived by his wife Cheryl and two children.ELLISON S. ONIZUKA, a USAF colonel, was the second mission specialist aboard STS-51L. He was born June 24, 1946, in Kealakekua, Kona, Hawaii. He is survived by his wife, Lorna, and two daughters.JUDY RESNIK, Ph.D. was the third mission specialist. She was born April 5, 1949, in Akron, Ohio. Was was unmarried.GREGORY B. JARVIS was a mission specialist on the Challenger. He was born in Detroit on August 24, 1944. He is survived by his wife, Marcia.S. CHRISTA McAULIFFE, was a payload specialist and NASA's first teacher in space participant. She was born September 2, 1948, in Boston, Massachusetts. She is survived by husband Steven and two children.
