Pop Tab Program in schools supports families staying at Ronald McDonald House

More than 197 tons collected since 1996

SANFORD, Fla. – Central Florida schools are once again joining forces to help Ronald McDonald House. Now in its 21st year, the Pop Tabs Program has raised over $210,000 to support families staying at Ronald McDonald House locations across Orlando.

Over 197 tons of pop tabs have poured in since 1996 to help fund Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida.

The Provenzano family shared their story with pop tab champions at Wilson Elementary.

"We've collected tabs since my daughter was born, since we're a RMH family, we stayed there when Emma had four heart surgeries at Arnold Palmer Hospital,” Shannon Provenzano, a Wilson PTA parent said.

“When we came to Wilson Elementary and saw the big pop tabs collection, we've continued with collecting them ourselves. We collect through family and friends and bring in a few sandwich bags full every couple of weeks. We know they're going to cause that meant a lot to us just and just helping to support it.”

The weigh-in and top winners will be announced in April 2018. For more about the Pop Tabs Program and how you can get involved click here.
