It’s Oscars week, so it comes as no surprise that many of the most-streamed movies right now are awards contenders. Of the 20 films topping the list of the most popular movies across all streaming platforms, based on data from Reelgood, nine were nominated in at least one category.
That includes the sci-fi action film “The Creator,” the fantasy comedy “Barbie,” the epic Western “Killers of the Flower Moon,” and two historical dramas: “The Zone of Interest” and “Oppenheimer.”

Also notably, this week’s top movies list sees not one, but two versions of “Dune” crack the top 20. With Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two” getting its box office release on the first of this month, many fans settled in for a re-watch of the first installment to refresh their memories before embarking on the nearly-three-hour conclusion.
And just because the 1984 version flopped at the box office (light years away from the success of “Part Two”), it’s proving to be a cult classic that’s well worth a watch.
But if Oscar contenders and sci-fi epics don’t spark your interest, you’re not out of luck.
