Anthony injured in courthouse fall

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County has released footage of a Casey Anthony falling in the courthouse on her way to a hearing in her murder trial.

Orange County Corrections Department spokesman Allen Moore said Anthony's shackles caught the edge of an elevator portal as she was exiting the elevator while being taken to court. Moore said Anthony fell forward, but escorting officers were unable to catch her before she fell.

Anthony was not present for Tuesday afternoon's hearing because she was being treated for injuries suffered in the fall. She has since returned to the Orange County Jail.

Local 6 News has learned that Anthony chipped a tooth and busted her lip in the fall.

Anthony, 24, is jailed on first-degree murder charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee, whose remains were found in a wooded lot in December 2008. Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July 2008.
