Police: Pregnant Woman Killed By Drunken Driver

Three Injured, One Killed At Biketoberfest

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Friday night Daytona Beach police said they have arrested Joshua Edward Baldes after seriously injuring three people and killed 21-year-old Grace Scullion, who was three to four weeks pregnant.

According to police, Baldes was in his 1993 Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound on George W. Engram boulevard. Baldes was headed towards M.L.K. Boulevard when he made a left turn in front of three motorcycles that were headed eastbound and struck them.

Baldes then drove off from the scene and stopped at the intersection of Pleasant and State streets and proceeded to flee on foot, police said.

Baldes told investigators he was on probation and had been drinking. He also told them he feared someone was dead which caused him to want to drive away from the crash scene.

The three other victims were transferred to Halifax Medical Center to receive treatment for their injuries.

Baldes is now facing charges of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a crash with death, leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury and violation of right of way.
