SANFORD, Fla. – The home of Shannon Burke, the radio host who served time in jail after being accused of shooting his wife and dog, was burglarized, according to the Sanford Police Department.
Burke told police that he was gone from his home for about an hour around 2 p.m. Sunday taking his dog to get groomed. When he came home, the back door was open and the glass had been knocked out, police said.

Burke told police the burglar took an iPad, a Sony Vaio laptop and a 47-inch Sony Bravia TV from his home. When asked, the neighbors said they didn?t see any suspicious activity, police said.
In May 2009, Burke was fired from his job at Real Radio 104.1 WTKS after being arrested on charges of shooting his wife and dog during a drunken argument.
In November 2009, Burke pleaded guilty to cruelty to animals and was sentenced to six months in jail.
Burke?s wife originally told police the shooting was intentional, but later claimed it was an accident.
Since then, Burke is out of jail and is working as a radio personality at 810 WEUS-AM.
