Police said Kelley called 911 from her home in the 900 block of Smith Street around 4:50 a.m.
According to the police report, Kelley told the dispatcher she shot her boyfriend in self-defense but that it was also an accident.
However, when police got to the home they said she changed her story, saying that Peatross grabbed the gun she was holding while they were arguing, put it to his head and it went off.
Police said they found Peatross shot dead inside the master bedroom with the gun about two feet away on the floor.
Police said they also found alcohol bottles and drink mixers on the kitchen counter.
After they took Kelley in for questioning, police said she changed her story again, saying that Peatross came into her house during the night, she didn't know who he was, and then the gun went off during a struggle.
When asked about what happened as she was escorted to jail in handcuffs, Kelley told reporters, "I didn't shoot him. He took the gun and shot himself."
Kelley was arrested on a first-degree murder charge. She declined an interview request.
Kelley does have an active real estate license in the state of Florida. Her broker, Dave Richmond, with Fidelity Real Estate Advisors, said while she has her license she's not a practicing Realtor.
He said she hasn't had any transactions since she bought her house five years ago.
