Report: Casey Anthony hiding out at church

No official confirmation if Anthony is there

ORLANDO, Fla. – The search for Casey Anthony has led to a Palm City church in Martin County, where she is rumored to be staying.

Tracking down Anthony on the Treasure Coast started after the Daily Beast reported that Anthony was hiding out at a church, three hours south of Orlando.

A blonde woman has been spotted in the area with a bob haircut similar to what Anthony was recently seen having in her online video diaries. But there is still no confirmation it's Anthony.

According to the report, the pastor of Cross Church of Palm City, about 200 miles southeast of Orlando, has given Anthony sanctuary and is offering her spiritual guidance.

The pastor would not confirm or deny he is helping Anthony, according to the report.

A man believed to be Jerry Lyons, the investigator hired by Casey Anthony's defense team, refused to comment about reports by the Daily Beast that Casey Anthony has been staying at the church and counseled by the church's pastor.

But the pastor placed several no tresspassing signs up along the edge of the church's property.

Many residents say they were concerned about the possibility of Anthony staying at the church because it has a school and there is an elementary school right down the street.

They don't like the idea of her being so close to children.

People were spotted gathering near the church, one with a sign reading "Casey Anthony you aren't wanted here."

Anthony, 25, was acquitted of murder charges in connection with the death of her daughter Caylee last year.
She is currently serving probation on unrelated charges.
Local 6 reached out to Anthony's attorney Cheney Mason but he didn't return phone calls.
