Daytona Beach prostitution sting nets 16 arrests

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police arrested 16 in a prostitution sting this week.

On Jan. 25, the prostitutes themselves were targeted, police said. Eight women were arrested and mostly charged with solicitation to commit prostitution.

On Jan. 26, prostitution customers were targeted, police said. Eight men were arrested and charged with solicitation to commit prostitution.

Jan. 25 arrests:

• Barbara Paxton, 37, of Daytona Beach
  
• Phyllis Peralta, 41, of Daytona Beach, also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia
  
• Dorothy Little, 51, of Daytona Beach
  
• Megan Vaccarmo, 24, of Ormond Beach
  
• Shannon Deangelis, 34, of Daytona Beach
  
• Tina Barber, 39, of Holly Hill, also charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia
  
• Jenna Pinehart, 26, of Port Orange
  
• Tania Semler, 42, of Daytona Beach, only charged with battery
