Austin Rivers hits buzzer-beater to defeat UNC

Winter Park grad leads Duke to stunning victory

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Austin Rivers' nickname is "Subzero".  Duke's freshman sensation showed he plays with ice in his veins by hitting a game-winning shot to beat its biggest rival.

Rivers hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the #9 Blue Devils to a thrilling 85-84 victory over #5 North Carolina Wednesday evening in Chapel Hill.

Rivers, who played at Winter Park High School, scored a season-high 29 points, capping a fierce comeback by the Blue Devils in the final minutes of the game.

Rivers is the son of former Magic head coach Doc Rivers.
