Police said Williams was carrying his son on Feb. 13, 2010, when he was confronted by an unknown person near his front door as he arrived home at 7 Castle Brewer Court.
During the confrontation, Williams was shot. The gunman fled and Williams looked for help for his son and himself, police said.
Williams knocked on his neighbor's door, gave his son to the woman inside and asked her to call his mother.
