DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A brush fire forced several businesses in Daytona Beach, including an Outback Steakhouse, to evacuate on Saturday evening.

Daytona Beach fire department said brush fire started near some buildings off International Speedway Boulevard about 7 p.m.

Officials said the brush fire was about 1 acre and burning between the Volusia Mall and Outback Steakhouse.

Officials said they evacuated the Outback Steakhouse as a precautionary measure.

By 8 p.m., the brush fire was under control.

Daytona Beach is investigating the cause of the fire.
