Plane flying into Orlando International Airport hits bird

No one injured, U.S. Airways officials say

ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Fla. – An airplane was flying into Orlando International Airport on Friday when it struck a bird, according to U.S. Airways officials.

Officials said the flight was arriving at OIA from Philadelphia when it struck the bird. The plane came down and landed safely at 12:30 p.m., but officials said they are taking the plane out of service to investigate.

Officials said 175 people and six crew members were on board. No one was injured.

It's not clear what type of bird it was.
