DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police are looking for a man and a woman who scammed an 87-year-old woman out of $10,000.
Police said it started at the Publix on Beville Road on Tuesday afternoon. The victim was approached by a woman, who asked her for a ride to Sam's Club.
Eventually, a man became involved, and the pair convinced the elderly woman to withdraw cash from the Wells Fargo Bank at 1300 Beville Road.
The woman is described as 5'3'' to 5'5'', heavy set with black hair. She was last seeing white slacks, white sandals, and a blue blouse.
The man is described as thin with a dark complexion and short, brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black skully cap, black pants, and a black windbreaker.
The two left in a 2010 or 2011 white, 4-door Nissan Altima.
A reward of $2,500 is being offered for information in the case.
