Video: Internet cafe patron shoots robbery suspects

Marion County deputies investigate robbery attempt

OCALA, Fla. – A patron at a Marion County Internet cafe shot and injured two armed men who stormed the business in a robbery attempt, according to authorities.

Samuel Williams, 71, shot the men with a .380-caliber handgun on Friday at Palms Internet Cafe at 8444 SW State Road 200 in Ocala.

In video released Monday by the Marion County Sheriff's Office, two men -- one carrying a handgun and the other a baseball bat -- are seen running into the Internet cafe and destroying a computer.

Deputies said one of the suspects yelled, "Don't none of you (expletives) move."

Williams, who can been seen in the video sitting in the background, takes out his own pistol, stands up and starts shooting at the men, who run out of the business while falling to the floor.

Both men, later identified as Davis G. Dawkins and Duwayne Henderson, both 19, were shot by Williams and were taken to Shands Hospital in Gainesville.  Dawkins had a superficial wound in his left arm. Henderson was shot in his left buttock and right hip.

Both face charges of attempted robbery with a firearm and felony criminal mischief.

Williams, who has a license to carry a concealed weapon, does not face any charges.
