POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A woman who fell about 150 feet after her harness broke while she was parasailing in Pompano Beach has died.
The accident happened in the Hillsboro Inlet on Wednesday afternoon.

Kathleen Miskell, 28, was parasailing with her husband when she fell, said Pompano Beach firefighters.
"The young lady was with her husband, and they were in tandem, being pulled by the parasail, and her harness failed and broke and she fell," said Pompano Beach Mayor Lamar Fisher.
The parasail boat operator reeled both her husband into the boat and found Miskell facedown in the water, Sandra King, a spokeswoman for Pompano Beach, said in an email.
Miskell was transported to the North Broward Medical Center in critical condition after Pompano Beach Fire Rescue performed CPR. She died at the hospital.
The couple was reportedly on vacation from Connecticut.
The company that took the couple out is Waveblast Water Sports, based in Pompano Beach. A spokesperson offered no comment but said the incident was under investigation.
Fisher said there should be more regulation for water sports companies.
"So these boats, these harnesses and this equipment can be inspected on a regular basis. And right now, that's not occurring. And that's what upsets us," said Fisher.
