Tour: Former Orlando brothel hosts 3 spirits

Harp and Celt home to friendly ghosts, according to ghost tour

ORLANDO, Fla. – American Ghost Adventures leads nightly tours through downtown Orlando, and according to Tinh Rappa, one of the most active locations is the Harp and Celt, which was a brothel in the early 1900s.

Rappa says her tours regularly encounter three spirits, one of whom is known as a ladies man and actually has a "favorite" table.

"Max is supposed to be the caretaker of the building back in the day.  He took care of the women and made sure people respected them and followed the rules," she said.

Rappa also says staff at the Harp report seeing a middle-aged women known as "Frances," as well as a young boy.

Rappa tells us on their tours, guest use electromagnetic field meters to search for energy.  She also asks spirits to communicate through sounds and by dimming lights.

Whitney Brown is the bar manager. She tells Local 6 strange things often happen at the restaurant, although she still sometimes gets an uneasy feeling, the staff and spirits now coexist peacefully.

"I think because we gave hims some recognition," she said. "He knows we are aware of his presence and accept him and are willing to keep him happy."

American Ghost Adventures conducts tours nightly, beginning at 8 p.m. For ticket information, visit their website.
