Daytona man arrested after escaping from patrol car, police say

Man was being arrested on domestic aggravated battery charges

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Authorities have found a man who escaped a patrol car while he was being arrested for a previous charge of domestic aggravated battery.

Byron Lord, 26, was charged with domestic aggravated battery on Thursday and as he was being placed into the patrol car handcuffed behind his back, he somehow escaped, police said.

The back window was partial rolled down and somehow Lord was able to open the door and escape at 3 p.m., according to the report.

He was located and arrested after his escape inside an apartment on Jean Street at 5 p.m.
