Mysterious flying object lights up sky on New Year's Eve

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – While many people rang in the New Year watching fireworks, several people across California reported seeing something else streaking through the night sky.

"Well, we saw it right through the trees," says Sacramento resident Steve Brown, "It was bright enough to shine directly through the trees without any problem seeing it."

Steve Brown was just one of several others who claim to have seen a mysterious flying object on New Year's Eve. Some shared pictures of the glowing discovery, while others posted video on YouTube.

It looks like many are going to be left ringing in 2014 with a big mystery because as of right now, there's still no rational explanation for what people saw light up the sky all across California.
