Veteran shoots, kills self outside Orlando VA clinic

ORLANDO, Fla. – A veteran shot and killed himself in the parking lot of the Baldwin Park VA clinic, according to officials.

The shooting happened around 11:15 a.m. at the Orlando VA Medical Center at 5201 Raymond Street.

"(Monday) an incident occurred at Lake Baldwin in which a veteran took his life with a firearm in our parking lot," the Orlando VA Medical Center said.  "We are deeply saddened at the loss, and our thoughts and sincerest condolences go out to the family during this very difficult time."

The victim's name has not been released.

No other details were released.

An investigation is ongoing.
