Orange County sheriff's homicide detectives on Tuesday are en route to Memphis to meet with police investigators.

Orlando-area authorities have not confirmed if Petrozzino is dead, but WMC-TV in Memphis reports that Petrozzino shot and killed himself Monday afternoon during a traffic stop as police officers approached his car.

A pistol was found inside of the vehicle, which was described as a 2012 Toyota Camry, WREG reports. According to reports, Petrozzino made an illegal U-turn when officers pulled him over.

Authorities in Memphis said a positive identification of the suicide victim will not be made until at least Wednesday evening.

Orange County deputies said Nancy Petrozzino, 64, and her husband Michael Petrozzino, 63, were found dead inside their home last week during a well-being check.  Neighbors told Local 6 that the principal of Andover Elementary School called 911 after Nancy Petrozzino didn't show up to teach her second-grade class.
