Woman jumps from window to escape Orlando home intruders

Gunmen sought; Victim expected to be OK, deputies say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman jumped from a second-floor window of an Orlando apartment late Wednesday night after two gunmen barged into the home, according to deputies.

The home invasion happened at the Lakeview Pointe apartment complex on South Rio Grande Avenue.

According to Orange County sheriff's deputies, the gunmen demanded cash and drugs, but the people inside said they didn't have any drugs.

The woman jumped from the window and called 911, deputies said.

"She had a long two-story drop," a deputy said.  "She complained her legs bothered her."

Officials later said the woman was expected to be OK.

Orange County sheriff's deputies said the gunmen escaped.  A good description of the intruders was not known, deputies said.

An investigation is ongoing.
