While at the couple's home, Dietrich stole a 3-carat diamond ring set in a 14-karat gold setting, police said. When family members asked Dietrich about the ring, he denied knowing where it was or having it.

The ring was reported stolen and Dietrich was named as a suspect, police said.

Melbourne Officer Mark Jennewein contact Dietrich and got him to meet up with police at the gas station to return the ring.

Police said when the ring was returned to the woman she cried because she was fearful the ring would never be recovered.

ClickOrlando.com previously reported Dietrich was arrested. It was later determined that was not the case. ClickOrlando.com regrets the error.
