Man arrested for taking video up woman's dress at Walmart in Apopka

Victim's nephew took photos of man, license plate to help police

APOPKA, Fla. – A man was arrested Monday after Apopka police say video shows him trying to record up a woman's skirt in a crowded Walmart. The incident happened right off Orange Blossom Trail near Hiawassee Road on Sunday afternoon.

The victim, a 35-year-old woman, spoke to Local 6 about what happened.

"That was his Sunday afternoon plan, he came there with no cart, he wasn't shopping, he was shopping for a woman with a dress on," the victim said.

The woman, named Teneika, didn't want us to use her last name.

Police say 42-year-old James King followed her around the store before he walked up and squatted down next to her. That's when she says he pulled out his cellphone and stuck it under her dress.

"As I was shopping I felt him a little too close to me," she said. "I felt awkward so I moved over a little bit and as I looked over his arm was extended away from his body."

The security video then shows her walking away, but she comes back with her
nephew who quickly confronts King. As King tried to make his escape, Teneika says her nephew took a picture of him and followed him to the parking lot to take another picture of his car's license plate.

The pictures helped police track him down, but when questioned about why he had his phone out, King denied snapping photos and says he was looking at his to-do-list.

He has since bonded out of jail. Local 6 went to his apartment for answers, but
no one came to the door.

"I just feel so violated, disgusted, and embarrassed," Teneika said. "It just doesn't seem real, I don't want to believe this really happened."

Police say there is a possibility that King could have targeted more victims and they are investigating.
