Daytona Beach college student slain while making Craigslist purchase James Jones Jr. shot dead in Georgia
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A college student from Daytona Beach was shot and killed in Georgia when he tried to purchase an iPhone via Craigslist, according to police.
James Jones Jr. was shot Monday night in Marietta, Georgia, according to investigators.
Police said Jones went to a home after seeing an online ad for an iPhone 6. Three men attacked Jones, robbing and shooting him, according to police, who added that Jones was found dead behind the wheel of his car.
The trio was later arrested on felony murder charges.
Jones was studying chemistry at Clark Atlanta University.
