Orlando police said on Monday that Jamal Dion LaFortune, 21, fired shots at the Orlando park, injuring two people.  LaFortune was arrested on several charges, including two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharging a firearm in public.

At his initial appearance before a judge, it was determined that LaFortune would remain jailed after his bond was revoked on a previous charge.

Police said one man was shot in the arm and another man was shot in the foot.  Both victims were reportedly in stable condition.  Authorities initially said a teen girl had been shot.

Fun Spot said starting Monday at both of its parks, an off-duty police officer would be brought in at 8 a.m., an hour earlier than before.  A third-party security officer will also come in earlier, starting at 7 p.m.

In addition, Fun Spot will conduct bag checks and use metal-detector wands starting on Friday.

According to Fun Spot, off-duty Orlando police officers patrol the park, but only after 9 p.m., so they were not patrolling when the shots rang out.

Fun Spot spokesman David Hummer told Local 6 that about 200 teens and young adults were part of a "flash mob" who showed up at the park prior to the shooting.  Hummer said Fun Spot is talking to Orlando police about ways to prevent that type of incident from happening again.

Families attending the park told Local 6 that safety is top of mind after the shooting.

Some visitors said metal detectors or bag searches, which Fun Spot does not use, would make them feel safer.

Jorge Janer said he was in the park with his family when the gunfire began.

Despite the chaos, he returned with his young children Sunday because he said the quick police response and calm demeanor of employees made him feel safe. However, he said he would avoid the park late at night.

"We (are) planning to come during the day like right now and we're planning to leave a little bit earlier?," Janer said.

Fun Spot also told Local 6 they have surveillance cameras and they are working with police to see if the cameras will help in the investigation.

Sunday morning, Fun Spot posted the following statement on their Facebook page:

"It broke our hearts that our guests at our Orlando location had to experience the incident last night when they came to create positive and fun memories with their family and friends.
